Learning about bees
We teach bee care for all age groups. From pre-school age to adults we cover bee care through age appropriate teaching. New beekeepers are getting the right coaching to start their own journey with bees. Experienced beekeepers can get the advice needed to continue their journey.
Beekeeping is very personal and there are many ways to care for bees. Therefore there is no right or wrong. We can look back five generations where beekeeping was part of our family life. And the sixth generation is already growing into beekeeping.
Bee rescue
In spring and throughout summer bees swarm. This natural occurrence is their way to grow and split into two or more colonies. The old queen with half the bees will leave the hive to find a new home. Since tree holows and natural cavities are rare, bees make their home in walls, roofs or sheds. Often swrams can be found haning on tree branches, fences or hedges. It is important to act swiftly to rescue these swarms before they move into wall cavities. Once they moved into a house or roof it is very hard to remove the bees. Sometimes they have to be sprayed to avoid damage to the property or harm to the occupants.
We will remove swarms quickly and responsibly. Should a swarm be inside a wall cavity we consider all measure and attempt cut-outs were preactible. Only when all measures have been considered, we then will conduct extermination. We don’t liket to do this, but we can assure that for every exterminated beeswarm we could rescue many other swarms.

Responsible Pest Control and IPM
Learning about bees and rescuing feral beehives out me in contact with pest control in Australia. During my training to become a licensed pest technician I learned about integrated pest management (IPM) which is treating pests without chemicals. That’s when I knew that I can do both: be responsible with the environment and help people with pest problems.
Responsible pest control is all about the right approach, risk assessment and only applying chemicals where required. A combination of integrated pest management paired with targeted use of chemicals can reduce the load of chemicals we use per property and still achieve the same results.
